The collection took shape over some time; it was an intense creative process in which the author aimed to convey her dedication to the local environment and surroundings. The collection relates to the conditions prevailing over most of the year above the Polish sea and especially in the Gdańsk Bay. Dark water, piercing north-western winds, and coldness shaped the visions of this collection.
